Standard Staircase
Even though a standard staircase may sound boring, it doesn't have to be that way, as this picture shows. Closed string flights can be between walls, free standing and double back on themselves with the aid of landings or tapered treads (winders), or a combination.
Cut and mitred Staircase
Cut and mitred staircases are invariably among the most attractive staircases designed. When coupled with a good hardwood, such as European Oak or Sapele (as this image shows), the finished results are outstanding.
Open riser Staircase
This is a fairly typical example of an 'open riser' staircase. With an open riser flight, there are spaces between the riser and the tread, which allows more light into otherwise dark hallways. This type of staircase gives a spacious feeling and is a great design for any house.
Spiral Staircase (sometimes known as Helical)
This particular staircase is a free-standing double helical flight and takes up a great deal of space, but is un-paralleled in the effect it gives. In a grand hallway, a helical staircase of this type gives an effect more normally seen in Hollywood films.
Swept Staircase
Another fabulous design is the swept string staircase. As with the spiral staircase, this design has a powerful impact when you enter a house that has one. Also like the spiral, the side strings are curved, but the curves are generally far more subtle and don't curve in the same direction. In this instance, the strings sweep out towards the double front doors, as though to welcome you when you first enter.
External staircase
We are able to produce external staircases too. These are generally produced in Iroko which is a very durable hardwood as it contains its own natural oils. This means it could be left untreated or finished with our three coat system.
